We just received the news concerning a new EFPT event, which will take place in South of France. The EUROPEAN FUNBOARD EXPRESSION 2012 will host a regular EFPT event at SIX FOURS LES PLAGES from the October 27th till the 31st. These are great news for all freestylers, who are motivated to compete on European level. This event is the second confirmed EFPT event on the 2012 tourplan. Two more events are still not confirmed, one event in Turkey in August and the final in the UK in November.

How the EFE (European Funboard Expression) started
Since 2009 the local windsurfing club Six Fours and the company Open Ocean Media have been organizing the European Funboard Expression event. From a simple local contest, based on wave & freestyle, the EFE has grown to what it is now: an important event for many riders at the end of the season. With the support of many partners, the event hosted the finals of the European Pro Kids tour (EFPKT) in 2010 and 2011 and brought a lot of young freestyle addicts from France, Europe and even the Caribbean to the beach of Six Fours!
In 2012 the EFE joined the EFPT
In 2012 the kids will let the freestyle pros enter the arena of Le Brusc. The EFE organisation had already been approached a few times by the EFPT staff because they saw a solid opportunity to welcome an official stage of the EFPT through the EFE. In 2012 the organisers Fred Bosson and Steve Palier received a lot of support from local partners and sponsors and decided to move one step ahead. “The past years have been very successfull. Thanks to a great communication, the EFE is now well known and our organisation is perfectly set up.” Steve Palier and Fred Bosson announced.
The event will take place from October 27th to 31st at Le Brusc. The organizers expect sailors from Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and even the UK. They will face the hot local talent Adrien Bosson – winner of the EFE 2010, the excellent French sailor Julien Mas – winner of the Tow In session in 2011 – and also the world class sailors Nicolas Akgazciyan – 5th at the PWA Podersdorf Surf Worldcup in 2012 – and Antony Ruenes, who was ranked as the 7th best freestyler in the 2011 PWA ranking!
The European Funboard Expression 2012 will be dedicated to the French freestyler and wavesailor Vincent Mellouet – winner of the EFE 2009, who tragically passed away at the beginning of this year.
