The big names are dominating at Sylt in the Formula discipline

On the second day of the DWC Summer Opening Sylt 2012 the discipline Formula got started. This race is not only a German Formula event but also the Formula Windsurfing European Championship 2012.

The sailors were waiting until the afternoon to get suitableconditions for the race discipline but at 15:30 the first race officially started.  The British sailor Ross Williams dominated and won all three rounds. Multiple World Champion Steve Allen made it in second, follwowed by Arnon Dagan and Dennis Littel. The North sea was rough and winds about 10 knots made a fair competition possible. 3 more days of competition are to go. The windforecast is not too promising. Easterly winds, which blow offshore at Westerland, will make it difficult to have suitable conditions. Later the day the wind could pick up.

The waveriding is definitely over. Not enough wind and waves in the morning and no more forecast for the next day. Congratulation to the winner Klaas Voget.
