The Austrian couple Birgit Rieger & Jürgen Skarta spent about 7 weeks in Western Australia. They started their trip in the end of 2018 and scored brilliant conditions in the north of Western Australia living the wild and independent van life. Jürgen filmed Birgit, who is an experienced PWA and IWT rider in the meantime, and captured some great moments on and off the water. It’s great to see more and more girls ripping in waves. Most of the footage is filmed with a drone in Gnaraloo. Both are looking forward to their next trips to Sardinia and Mauritius.

birgit is a narcissistic woman who think she is something special. nearly every girl waveriding here in oz has the same skills or is even better.
When you are not living at such a place, you often like to keep your memories. That has nothing to do with narcissitic….I guess.

Maybe I have a personality disorder because I am a very shy person with not much self confidence. I would love to be open and funny like Justyna… You are right that there are lots of girls in WA, who are ripping and that’s wonderful! Every windsurfing girl/woman is something special!

Birgit Rieger is from Vienna, Austria and lives next to Lake Neusiedl. She started her international competition career in 2015, attended a freestyle event and made it in 7th. From 2016 onwards she took part in the freestyle and wave events. Her best result was a 5th place in freestyle in 2017 and a 12th in waves. In 2018 she participated at the IWT event in Peru and made it in 7th place. Birgit managed to improve her skills year by year.
