German freestyler Bastian Grimm (G-2511)travelled to the Inner Hebrides of Scotland instead of chasing wind somewhere in the south. He definitely got what he was looking for: wind and remote spots with raw nature. Tiree isn’t only great for wave windsurfing, it offers a lot of spots for freestyle enthusiasts.

Everybody in windsurfing goes to the south for winter training. I decided to go to the North. The Island of Tiree on Scotlands West coast is one of the windiest spots in Europe during the winter, and because of the Gulfstream, it’s also warmer than on the mainland. The edit shows some impressions from my windsurfing sessions and from the island itself. (Bastian Grimm)
