Day 9 at the Aloha Classic saw the pro men, pro women, masters, amateurs and grand masters competing. The conditions were far better than expected. A great north east swell arrived with long lines at Ho’okipa. Although the conditions weren’t easy, the locals showed their supremacy.

The pro men sailed 8 heats and completed round 3. Levi Siver had the highest score for a single wave ride and  with 16.8 points the highest overall score in the pro men round 3. Bernd Roediger grabbed the qualifying spot from Federico Morisio with two insane rides at the end of his heat and Antoine Martin landed a perfect Goiter in his heat. Just re-watch the live cast to see all the great action from day 9.

The pro women sailed 4 heats and completed round 3. Sarah Hauser (15.17 points) and Fiona Wylde (15.83) sailed in their own league.  Just 3 more heats need to be completed and we will know the 2017 women Aloha Classic winner 2017.

In the pro men division 7 more heats need to be done. All big names are still in the game. At the moment it looks like a local has the biggest chances to win the event. Siver, Roediger, Noireaux, Pritchard…who knows!

Head judge Duncan Coombs announced that he is looking at some great conditions to the end of the week and we can expect thrilling finals in the pro divisions of women and men.
