Ben Proffitt just sent us following clip from Australia, where the windy spring/summer period has just begun. Ben had some physical problems by the end of his competition season, but now he seems to be fit again and will inhale a lot of Australian summer feelings to be back with full power as a PWA live stream commentator and wave competitor on the PWA wave sailing tour. He had an awesome 2011 season finishing the PWA wave tour in 13th position. Additionally he won the Tiree Wave Classic for the second year in a row and could place himself in the top 3 at all other UK events. So, he also took the National UK wave sailing title in 2011, what was the perfect ending to a really good year. About his decision to travel to Australia he posted following comment:

“After 7 straight years winter training in Cape town it was time for a change! ..So here I am in Australia! I’ve been here 3 weeks and it´s going great.. We scored a full week up north with head to logo high waves everyday.. unfortunately my camera broke before I set foot on the board. So all the land footage was from a 20min session where Johan borrowed a friends camera.. it was also the smallest day we had.. which is why I took out a GoPro on the nose of my board (have a look and you will see it, haha), but you get the idea of how good it can be and was!! Camera is in the repairers now. so fingers crossed they fix it and I can bring u some proper action!!” (Ben Proffitt)
