What’s the deal?
The 5 star 2026 Tenerife World Cup is on and running, held by the WWT and PWA from July 31 until August 9, 2026. The first qualifying heats of the dingle eliminations in the women and men pro fleets were done on day one at Cabezo. The local organizers also ran the opening ceremony with the intense drum rhythm of the Canary the salsa groups and a flag walk through down town of El Medano.
Results of the qualifying heats on July 31, 2026
Bobby-Lynn De Jong made it through the first qualifying heat in the women’s fleet and will compete in the main pro fleet of the women. Noah Vocker from Lanzarote, who returned on tour, locals Giuseppe Constanzo Walter and Matteo Iachino, and Polish rider Franek Zarski managed to make it through the first qualifying round of the men. These four riders, who are still in teh competition, will battle it out in qualifying round and have to survive a third round, too, to make it in the 32 men main fleet of the event.
The Playa Surf Hotel Tenerife Windsurf World Cup kicked off today as part of the major wind and wave festival captivating the town of El Médano from July 31 to August 9. In addition to being one of the season’s key World Cup events, the festival offers plenty of fun for windsurfing fans and tourists alike. With food stalls, activities, and musical performances, there is something for everyone.
