2024 FPT Naxos – Lennart Neubauer wins Men Single Elimination

Lennart Neubauer, the 2024 Freestyle World Champion, wins the Single Elimination at the FPT event in Naxos in front of Steven van Broeckhoven and Yentel Caers.

I’ll be honest, it means probably more than the Worldtitle to me winning the single here in front of my closest friends. I grew up sailing with them and training hours and hours at the same spot and just being able to show everything here today, is just unbelievable. With pumping conditions right from the morning on day 2 it was straight on into the men’s single elimination. One competitor after the other was putting down insane heat scores. But in the final heat Lennart Neubauer was on another level. According to Lennart, it was probably one of the best heats he has ever sailed. He scored 45 points for his heat and won against Steven van Broeckhoven. Actually the 39 year-old Belgian van Broeckhoven won the last freestyle event in Naxos, which took place in 2009. In 2009 Lennart Neubauer was only 5 years-old. Now Steven and Lennart were together in the final. What a great story.
