On the third day of the 2024 Aloha Classic the youth and masters competition were completed. At this 40th anniversary of the prestigious Aloha Classic, 8 youth and 20 masters competitors were battling for places on the podium. Congratulations to Liam Dunkerbeck, who wins the Youth pro class and Keith Teboul, who wins the title of the masters fleet.
Youth pro class
It’s again Liam Dunkerbeck, who won the youth category. With 14.4 points he had a clear lead in the finals. Japanese Hayata Ishii made it in second place with 3.3 points behind. Marlon Maethner finished in 3rd and young Japanese talent Ryu Noguchi completed the top 4. Liam’s highest scoring wave was a 7.6 wave in his first attempt. The son of multiple Windsurfing World Champion Björn Dunkerbeck was leading the youth pro boys category throughout the entire season and with this win he wins the Youth pro World title 2024.

And the 20 year-old windsurfer from Gran Canaria is also qualified for the quarterfinals of the pro men. With his 5th places at Pozo Izquierdo and El Cabezo, we are sure Liam will soon make his first top three finish, too.
The Aloha Classic is a special event. It’s a cool place to be. Everyone knows about this event. It’s my last year competing in the junior category. I really wanted to take the title. I was sailing against Hayata, who is one of the best guys out there even in the pro men category! He is destroying the spot. I was happy to sail another final here in Maui. Masters class
A world class fleet of older aged riders gathered at Ho’okipa to compete for the 2024 Aloha Classic masters title. And the former world-class pros shone in the splendor of earlier times. Keith “Kiki” Teboul, Quatro and Goya shaper, and Francisco Goya, owner of Goya windsurfing made it into the winners finals. Vincent Beauvarlet and Paul Karaolidis tried to stand up to them, but failed. Keith and Francisco, two of the famous Quatro gang, showed how great their skills still are. Keith even built a new board for the event. It’s a thruster – the three fins are all the same size – with 84,5 liters and a length of 221 cm. It’s quite similar to the outline of the boards from Kai Lenny and it seems to work well for him. Congrats to all winners and special congrats to Mike Friedl senior, who won the masters Wave World Champion Title 2024.
