The 2013 AWT has started at Waddell Creek, Santa Cruz. Here’s a summary clip of the opening day’s action in California for the AWT (American Windsurfing Tour) Goya Windsurfing Festival. 31 heats got completed on the first day and Marcilio Browne was able to land a few perfect double Forwards in relatively small waves. So impressive! It’s great to see nice action and a healthy wave scene at America’s west coast.
So far heats in all classes were sailed. The pro class saw 10 heats and the top 8 qualified sailors are Levi Siver, Bernd Roediger, Morgan Noireaux and Kai Kathedorian for the first semi final and Bryan Metcalf-Perez, Marcilio Browne, Kevin Pritchard, Camille Juban for the second semifinal. The top two sailors of both heats will make it straight into the winners final of the single elimination.
The amateurs completed 12 heats, the women & youth 3 heats, the grand masters 1 heat and the masters 4 heats. Have a detailed look on the results on day 1. The wind and wave forecast looks excellent for the upcoming days. There is a good chance to see the finals soon plus a double elimination in all classes.

Big respect! Nice to see famous Californian waves ripped and jumped! Few more riders and whole PWA would be there 🙂
