In 2014 Josep Pons and Josep Capó organized the first windsurfing event, the “Festival Windsurf Menorca” on the island of Menorca, Balearic Islands in Spain. “The goal was to motivate the local windsurfing scene and show all the windsurfers around the world that Menorca is a perfect place for training. The plan for next year is, to organize a local or Spanish competition, too, “ Josep Pons stated.

And the wind gods treated them well for their first event. 40-45 knots NW winds and big waves hit the beach of Son Bou, a long sandy beach at the south of the island. From the 44 registered sailors only 13 were able to sail.
