STARBOARD presents FREESTYLE PRO KIDS EUROPE Porto Pollo, Sardinia, Italy - July 6-13th 2008
We're proud to announce the first ever Freestyle Pro Kids Europe, which will take place in Italy, 6-13 July 2008. This is the best opportunity for ambitious freestylers to show their skills in a all-European easy to access contest.
Location
The event will take place in Porto Pollo, Northern Sardinia. Porto Pollo is the windiest salt-water spot in Italy, and probably one of the most reputated windsurfing location in the world. Since the beginning of the sport of windsurfing Port Pollo has been a real mecca for windsurfers from whole Europe, and it's the natural location to guest the first Freestyle Pro Kids Europe.
The reputation of Porto Pollo is due to the famous Maestrale, the strong north-westerly wind which often blows over the clear crystal water of northern Sardinia.
Flat water will grant the perfect playground for the hottest young freestyler of Europe.
Format
The event is a stand alone contest 100% focused on young riders. Discipline is freestyle, the ambassador of windsurfing to the new generations. We will have 4 groups of competitors:
- up to 10 years
- 11-13 years
- 14-15 years
- 16-17 years
The contest is open to both male and female riders, which will compete in separate ladders. As part of the entertainment, we will also have other related events like, Gemini Cup, SUP Stand Up Paddle event, and show-off of the still to be revealed new 2009 line.
