Timo Mullen takes us on a wave sailing road trip to the Isle of Lewis (Outer Hebridies, Scotland).

Timo is a real wavesailing addict and follows the swells in the UK and around the world. As he got a family with kids his time and budget is limited and he nowadays prefers to spot a great forecast on the islands, which are in driving distance and drives up there. “Flying around the world got really expensive and so great spots are are almost around the corner!”

In September Timo and his brother drove up through Scotland and took the ferryboat. A perfect time with long days and 8 to 9 hours of possible time on the water. On their trip they met the local Scottish windsurfers Scott McDowell, Ian Gibson and Alan Jackson. The conditions were as good as anywhere else on the planet. Tam, the brother of Timo, filmed and edited the whole clip and he included some old footage from 1995, when brother Finn was riding Bragar on a monster day.

Spots:  They sailed at Barvos, where it was really windy, almost a Storm Chase day hanging on 3,7s and 4,2s. Real survival conditions. On day 2 and 3 Bragar worked out well. Very clean waves and light wind conditions made this spot working excellent.
