Morgan Noireaux (17) is one of the young upcoming talents, who sails most of the time at Hookipa, Maui. He actually lives in Haiku and was born in Vannes, France. So far he had an excellent season and is currently ranked in third on the AWT (American Windsurfing Tour) 2012. And in two weeks the final event of the AWT will take place at his homespot Hoookipa.

He sent us the following clip called “The Apocalypse”, which shows Morgan´s great skills in waves and freestyle action by Adrien Hildebrand (22), who lives in Lausanne, Switzerland. But we have no idea, why they are wearing gas masks? So we asked Morgan!

C7: What inspired you to film certain scenes off water. A specific movie, or any other thoughts? Where did you film the stuff?

Morgan: At first we were not sure what to do for the parts off the water, as we did not want to do some basic lifestyle shots. Then Adrien found this fake gas mask and we just started playing around with it and getting different ideas. We tried to do something “apocalyptic” hence the name. All of it was filmed at the sugar cane factory.

C7: What are your expectations for the AWT final, Morgan?

Morgan: I’m excited for the AWT contest on Maui. Sam Bittner has done a great job these past two years so I’m sure it will be an amazing contest. We also have a pretty long waiting period so we are almost sure to get some really good conditions. I’m 3rd in the overall rankings right now, unfortunately I can’t improve on that regardless of what place I get at Hookipa since Levi and Camille are so far ahead in points.
I’m still really motivated though, and If I’m going to keep my ranking I’m going to have to do well as I have a few really good guys nipping at my heels.

Morgan: “This is a video produced by my friend Adrien Hildebrandt and myself. All credits go to Adrien as he did all of the editing. All of the freestyle parts are Adrien, and all of the wavesailing parts are me.”
