19 year old Korbi Obermeyer from Munich,Germany spent 2 months in Costa Rica during the European winter, which was pretty hard this year. After he had finished school he worked for almost half a year and decided to go for the trip to central America. Costa Rica is well known for its excellent Nortada winds during the winter months. Korbi started his trip at the beginning of January 2013 and spent a wonderful time in Costa Rica till the middle of March.
“During my 9 week long stay I spent most of the time at Lake Arenal. The wind conditions were excellent and I used 4.0 m or 4.6 all the time. The place itself is great and really relaxed. During the day the air temperatures are around 30°C. During the night the temperatures go down a bit. Great to recover and sleep well. It’s a sweet water place and you never wish to get off the salt. I spent my time in the Ticowind Windsurfing Center. On the water is a lot of space compared to other spots. I filmed some nature in the areas just around the lake Arenal, at Rio Celeste in the Tenorio National Parc. I am extremely happy that I decided to travel to Costa Rica.
