Over the sea – Movie

“Over the sea” is the new movie by the Slovenian freestyle windsurfer and filmmaker Andraz Zan featuring the 2011 Freestyle World Champion Steven van Broeckhoven at spots around Sao Miguel do Gostoso in Brazil. You can expect 11 minutes of nice shots, powerful freestyle action with amazing air time and some hard crashes. Worth watching!
Andraz: “Movie about the trip to Brazil… a little bit different one… A lot of sailing… 3 trips around Sao Miguel de Gostoso, nice people, cool atmosphere… It should always be like that… fun sailing and not thinking about competition, etc… It comes so much more out of it… Most people who don’t compete know this but the riders, start to forget… You have to experience everything from the trip and just have fun sailing with your friends! Not sure but could be an air gozzada?………anyone else got an idea?.
Matador?
It can’t neither a matador nor a Air Gozzada. For a Matador he’d have to shift the sail first like in a bob. For a Gozzada he’d have to go to the other side of the sail after the jump.
To me it looks like something completely new. Some kind of back to sail cheeseroll where he changes front to sail again in the air.
We should ask Steven for its name!

I believe it’s not new,Florian Jung already did something like this,there must be a vid of it here on C7
It’s something like Ocean Jump or something like that. Florian did it like 3 years ago and had the sequence on Surf if I remember correctly.

Couldn’t it ‘just’ be a 2 handed air-bob? He’s regular stance, ducks the sail and in stead of only grabbing the boom with the front hand he also grabs with his back hand. He often does his one-handed air bobs in a similar slightly tweaked way. Anyway it looks great!

Oops silly me, more like an air-matador I guess (and the matador to me looks like a sort of two handed bob anyway)… doesn’t matter, anyway we probably should ask Steven what he did…
