Rewarded – Extra slowmotion clip
Andre Paskowski has released a new clip with left over footage from his actual movie “Rewarded“. For Rewarded, the German has invested in a new camera, the Sony FS700, which can produce 240 frames per second in Full HD quality. For Andre, this camera is the real core of the movie: “Every second of realtime is 10 seconds long in the movie or let´s say, it is a 10 times slow-motion. You can creative this effect also with programms called Twixtor or heavyweight cameras and big hard drives, but the problem on Twixtor is, that it is only a programm and not the reality. It calculates all details in between each of your pictures to create the slow-motion effect. But the real slow motion comes when the camera can film slowmo. Well, this camera plus a water housing makes the footage possible! This combo enables perspectives and scenes, which are unreal and which I have never seen before in any windsurfing clip or movie.”
If you haven´t seen the movie Rewarded, watch it here.
Don´t forget to switch to HD quality!

Please tell me where you got the waterproof housing from?!
Thanks
András
i build it together with my dad. real fun
Thanks for the info! Guess we also should build one for our own.
Any online resource which you relied on?
Not really. I have 2 SPL housings and it seemed all clear and simple. ALU is easy to work with. There sure comes some Production Housings soon as fs700 is hugh seller. But most Production Housings range from 4000EUR onwords for manual Cameras
For the no budget filmer Twixtor or other plugins are often the only possibility to recreate slomo effects.
The downside is, that you have often really heavy artifacts like wiggles, distortions, etc. in your footage.
But if you use them right only people with experience in professional postproduction (not the 2 times in a year editor) can spot them.
Nevertheless cameras which record really high frame rates, produce, hands down, REAl Slomotion.
And thats not the only aspect. You definately need an operator, who have experience with slomo filming.
A pity that these cameras are so expensive!
It is relatively cheap, compared to the REAL highspeed cameras like Phantom Flex or Miro, or the Weisscam. Those are huge beasts, and cost at least 10 times the price of the fs700. But they record raw and much higher framerates.
If you compare the Sony to DSLR cameras, yes, its more expensive. But it is a completely different league in movie production. As always, you get what you pay for.
Awesome stuff!!! 1.42 is almost a culo into shaka??
