Jamie Drummond at Fuerte – Video

on 15. November, 2012 – 20:01 / No Comment

Jamie Drummond (K-787), 25 year old UK based freestyler.  just announced that he will be part of the Severne Team for 2013. Jamie recently competed at the EFPT event in Weymouth and finished in 13th position. Read what Jamie announced about his gearchange:

“I’m extremely happy to announce that I am now officially part of the Severne Sails Revolutionary Team. As I couldn’t use my Tushingham sails on the PWA it made a lot more sense to be using Severne.

I first used the 2012 S-1 out in Fuerteventura and also had the chance to test out the 2013 Freek. It is the new dedicated Severne freestyle sail and performs fantastically. It bucks the trend a little in that it maintains a 5-batten skeleton while every other loft is going 4-batten. It gives the sail a lot of extra control in overpowered conditions and ducking is a piece of cake! The massive lift and super light weight make the Freek the perfect freestyle sail, I can’t wait for my quiver to arrive.”

Here is a short video of Jamie sailing at Fuerte, which brings some summerfeeling during the fall. “I was testing  a 4.4 Freek prototype in about 40-50 knots – having the stability of a 5-batten sail was pretty useful to say the least.”
