Hawaiian Extreme Sports Show – Video

on 16. August, 2012 – 18:56 / One Comment

Watch the Santa Cruz Goya Windsurfing Festival, as produced by Hawaiian Extreme Sports TV and filmed by Maui Nerd Productions. It´s an action packed with a lot of radical progressive wavewoves in starboardtack conditions at Santa Cruz. Levi Siver, Camille Juban, Bernd Roediger, Kevin Pritchard, Graham Ezzy, Marcilio Browne and many more Levi Siver, the event winner, talks about his attitude and the motivation to compete on the AWT, the American Windsurfing Tour, which is growing year by year. Windsurfing is a cool sport, like Motocross on the water. And it´s fun! And the south swell helped a lot to get great conditions for the this years event at Waddell Creek, which were held  from the 3rd till the 6th of May.

This clip definitely inspires to grab the gear and travel somewhere to ride and jump some waves. Or perhaps you are lucky living next to the ocean and had a nice wave session recently.

Some infos about Waddell Creek, Santa Cruz by the AWT:

Waddell Creek, site of the Santa Cruz Goya Windsurfing Festival, flows near the Northern Santa Cruz county line. It’s directly off HWY 1, about 20 minutes north of Santa Cruz, and an hour south of San Francisco Bay. With the reliable Northen California wind machine cranking 5.0-4.5 steady side to side onshore winds, Waddell offers a punchy set of peaks that is perfectly suited for jumping and waveriding alike. It was first sailed by Kevin Mitchell and Barbara Ockel in the late 70?s on slightly modified stock Windsurfers. It’s proximity to both the Bay Area and Santa Cruz, as well as being one of the best waves around on a south swell allowed further progress and interest. Waddell has in the past hosted a huge international event, the 1983 Hang Ten World Cup, and it gained reputation in the 80?s as the premier wavesailing spot on the mainland, with several successful national competitions held from 1985-2000.
