anyone got any tips for ducking the sail??!!

  • Rick says:

try to throw the clew to the back of the board

  • Silver says:

Try to carve a little into the wind while ducking the sail. Lean forward towards the nose of your board before ducking the sail. Than try to get the sail into a position behind your body and try making your upper body to look almost a bit in the opposite way of the direction the board is going. It’s like your sail and upper body should almost face 10-30° backwards. So the sail is in the back and opened. Or the other trick is just to try and make a duck tack in the footstraps. That way you learn how to get the sail into the right position. At least that’s my way of doing it ;)

  • Salazar says:

    Eat your poo.

You’ll only have to do it once and you’ll be rewarded with superior balance and ducktack ability.

I did it and now I’m pro.

  • M&M says:

I second Salazar’s statement, eating your poo is the best way.

  • Tip says:

    There is a point between:
    - The sail will be blown away by the wind (To upright)
    - The sail is to low and will fall because of to less wind (To flat)

Tip! Try to find te point between those two.

For Powermoves sometimes it’s better to get your sail in the “To upright” position, because of the power you get from the wind to launch your move.

For Kono’s sometimes it’s better to get your sail in the “To flat” position, because then it’s easier to carve upwind.

    Succes ;D

I agree with Tip. I usually regulate how hight/low my sail will be with my course. In case i want the sail more upright i go a little more downwind and if i want it lower i go more upwind. But never carve your board downwind during the sailshift.
