Steve recently won the Formula Worlds and is more focused than ever before to keep the title for 2010. As well he got a third place at the PWA Costa Brava Slalom event and finished the PWA year on a 9th place overall. Steve’s determination to succeed blends perfectly with Starboard’s mission to innovate in Formula and Slalom disciplines. The Aussie, who lives in Poland partly of the year, will join Starboards R&D program with the focus on the iSONIC and FORMULA models.
Why did you choose to team up with Starboard?
First because they are the best to help me achieve the best possible results. Also I love development and dreaming of new innovative designs, where Starboard are always keen to try something new and different to find the best product. While other companies tend to stay very conservative and not to spend too much money on development.
What do you think of the new Starboard formula HWR & LWR?
Great combination of boards to suite everyone and all conditions.
What is your goal and what events will you do for 2010?
To be 1st in FW and top 3 in PWA slalom. To compete on the FW Gran Prix World Tour, FW European and World Championships and the PWA Slalom Tour.
How does your winter look like?
Testing Severne sails in Australia Oct/Nov, end of Nov to Brazil for FW GP tour event then Dec/Jan to the east coast of Australia spending time with my family while wave sailing and some race training there. Back to Europe end of Jan to prepare all my FW gear and intense training period to prepare for the FW Worlds in Argentina in the end of March.
