Formula Sao Paulo Grand Prix 2009 – Day 4
Day 4 brought really good wind conditions at Ilhabela in Brazil for the Formula Grand Prix. 4 more rounds got sailed in the current running Sao Paulo Formula Grand Prix. Ross Williams and Jesper Vesterstrom were definitely the sailors of the day.
PWA Topracer Ross Williams, the current event leader, could win the first race in 16 – 17 knots of wind in front of Jesper Vesterstrom and Wilhelm Schurmann. In Race 6, the wind picked up to 20 knots, Ross took the hammer down again, followed by a strong Alberto Menegatti. Race 7 and 8 got dominated by Danish Formula Windsurfing Pro Jesper Verstrom, who could win both rounds and jumped in the overall ranking in second position after day 4.
Ross Williams has still the lead in the overall standing, but Jepser Vesterstrom could put some pressure on him. In third position is Italien Alberto Menegatti ranked right now with the same points like Versterstrom. If you have a look on the results below, you will recognize, that many riders have already stopped to compete. There are only 12 to 14 riders left, who fight for results. Tomorrow will be last day of competition and it could be an exciting final! There are still big changes in the overall ranking possible.
