Cutback Crash Phil Horrocks

The British waverider Phil Horrocks had an mighty crash at Witsands, South Africa. Unusual for January, the wind came from north-west and brought cleanest sideshore conditions. Normally during this period of the year the “Cape Doctor Wind” is blowing from south-east.
We captured this move while the Oxbow Big Bay Classic 2009 in January. After this crash Phil had to swim for a while. The final for the Big Bay Classics was then two days later at Big Bay, where Phil won the competition.







That was the wavesailors dream day. And Phil went big and took a lot of risk..
