Formula Sao Paulo Grand Prix 2009 – Video Day 1

On the first day of the Formula Sao Paulo Grand Prix 2009 on the Ilhabela island, Brazil, the first race got cancelled during racing, because the wind dropped below the required 7 knots mimimum. “It was a good decision, since the conditions really got worse in the middle of the race and it was pretty hard to plan,” said Paulo dos Reis, Brazilian Formula windsurfer, who lives on Ilhabela.
The current Brazilian Nr. 1 Wilhelm Schurmann also agreed with the decision of the race director. “I had no conditions. Let´s wait for Thursday.”
And the Danish competitor Jesper Vestersrom prefers to sail in better wind conditions: “It is better to sail in high wind and anyway, the competitions lasts until Sunday. We better wait for the wind to be better.”
