Björn Dunkerbeck WOK Worldchampion 2009
Björn Dunkerbeck got another world title last weekend in Winterberg/Germany at the WOK Worldchampionships.
The WOK Worldchampionships got invented by the german showmaster Stefan Raab, who had the idea to sled down a normal bobsledrun with a wok, you normally would only use for asian cooking.
Bjorn Dunkerbeck got invited to compete in the “TV-Total” team together with Axel Stein (german comedian), Andre Lange (german bobsleder) and Stefan Raab (german entertainer and comedian) in the 4men wok. This team could outclass the other teams by more than 4 seconds.
That Bjoern is expert in opening champagne at prizeceremonies you can see here. Bjoern Dunkerbeck action starting from 4:30min on. Only in german language.

C7: Are you proud to be WOK worldchampion?
More than proud! I think it was much fun to join the event, and then winning in a team where Andre Lange is a pro Bob sledge driver in the team, Stefan Raab TV commentator and show man, Axel Stein TV commentator and me WINDSURFER !
The first time I saw an ice pipe was when I got invited 4 years ago. In other teams there where 4 pro ice pipe riders together !!!
C7: How did it come that you could be part of the team of Stefan Raab?
I was in his team 2 years ago together with Andre Lange and I think that he had a good feeling that we could help him to get the victory.
C7: Did you train a bit before the worldchampionships or did you go for it without special preparation?
As I said I´ve done the wok WM for the 4th time and this pipe was new. So I did more than 10 training runs on friday and at Satuday morning as well. So I knew pretty much the way!
Do you like to compete in a team (windsurfing is not a team sport)?
It was interesting , in the end I think that Andre and myself kept the team spirit and that really helped
You are extremely fast inside the ice pipe? Will you be that fast on the Slalom and Speed courses in the upcoming season?
This year will be very exciting. My Starboards and Severnesails are going very well and I have had a lot off time on the water. I hope we will have good strong wind all year to make it more fun!
